Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s automotive leader, kicked off 2025 with unprecedented momentum. The automaker reported 2,12,251 units sold in January 2025, marking its highest-ever monthly sales and a 6.5% YoY growth from January 2024 (1,99,364 units).

Maruti Suzuki’s January 2025 sales reflect robust domestic and export demand:
Month-over-Month Growth: Sales surged by 63% compared to December 2024 (1,30,117 units), signalling post-festive season recovery and strong New Year demand.
Compact cars saw a 7.5% YoY increase, with 82,241 units sold in January 2025. However, YTD sales dipped to 6,30,889 units (from 6,86,544), suggesting fluctuating demand in the fiscal year.
Combined Mini + Compact Sales: 96,488 units (up 4.4% YoY from 92,382).
The mini segment faced a 10% YoY drop, selling 14,247 units in January 2025 vs. 15,849 units in 2024. YTD sales fell to 1,03,889 units (from 1,15,483), reflecting shifting consumer preference toward feature-rich compact cars.
Compact cars saw a 7.5% YoY increase, with 82,241 units sold in January 2025. However, YTD sales dipped to 6,30,889 units (from 6,86,544), suggesting fluctuating demand in the fiscal year.
UVs dominated with 65,093 units sold, up 4.9% YoY. The Brezza SUV spearheaded this growth, capitalizing on India’s SUV craze. YTD UV sales rose to 5,94,056 units (from 5,22,626), highlighting sustained demand.
Ciaz sales doubled YoY to 768 units, but YTD figures dropped to 6,629 units (from 9,266), indicating a niche yet volatile market.
Maruti’s sole LCV, the Super Carry, sold 4,089 units (20% YoY growth). YTD sales jumped to 29,391 units, reflecting demand in last-mile logistics.
