Kia India has issued a free recall of its Seltos SUV in the country. Models are affected by the 1.5-litre NA petrol with CVT transmission,
But Korean automaker Kia India is recalling 4,358 units of 1.5-litre NA petrol Seltos with CVT transmission manufactured between February 28 and July 13, 2023.
The reason for this recall is to address an apparent defect in the electronic oil painting pump regulator. Performance of the SUV in the mentioned transmission variant.
The automaker will reach out to the concerned owners of Seltos and replace the affected part free of charge. Currently, this Hyundai Creta-rival is widely available in seven variants namely HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX Plus and X-Line in petrol and diesel powertrain options.
The prices of these five seats are Rs. Starting from 10.90 lakhs and Rs. 20.30 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).
The Seltos is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, also known as CVT or IVT. It is available only in a single variant HTX priced at Rs. 16.60 lakhs, ex-showroom. The Kia Seltos competes against the segment leader Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hirder, Skoda Kushak, MG Aster and Volkswagen Tiguan.
