The current Skoda Superb was launched globally in November last year. The Skoda Superb is based on the MQB EVO platform and is available with a range of petrol and diesel plug-in hybrid powertrains. These include a 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI engines with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
Skoda discontinued its diesel engine at the end of the BS4 era by the Government of India. The carmaker expects the demand for diesel cars to decline but currently, the market for diesel cars in India is strong, especially in the SUV segment.
